Drying off after a swim in the high Arctic. Polar Bears are marine mammals, capable of swimming hundreds of kilometres at a time. Seeing this one roaming over the Arctic sea ice at 80° North truly put things into scale, jumping in and out of the water between ice floes. I captured these scenes in the marginal ice zone between Svalbard and Greenland, a vast and seemingly endless landscape of ice stretching all the way to the North Pole.
